How to install Bathroom Faucet ourselves

Installing a bathroom faucet yourself is a manageable DIY project if you have basic plumbing knowledge and tools. Here's a step-by-step guide:


Tools & Materials You'll Need:

Adjustable wrench

Basin wrench (optional but helpful)

Plumber’s tape (Teflon tape)

Bucket or towel

New faucet and supply lines (if not included)

Silicone sealant or plumber’s putty (as per faucet instructions)


1. Turn Off the Water Supply

Shut off the hot and cold water valves under the sink.

Open the faucet to relieve any pressure and drain remaining water.

Place a bucket or towel under the sink to catch drips.


2. Disconnect the Old Faucet

Use a wrench to disconnect the water supply lines from the faucet.

Unscrew the mounting nuts holding the faucet in place.

Remove the old faucet and clean the sink surface.

3. Install the New Faucet

Insert the new faucet through the mounting holes.

Apply plumber’s putty or silicone (if required) under the faucet base.

Tighten the mounting nuts from underneath to secure the faucet.

Attach the new supply lines to the faucet and shutoff valves.


4. Install/Connect the Drain Assembly (if included)

Remove the old drain and clean the drain hole.

Apply plumber’s putty under the new drain flange.

Insert the drain into the sink and tighten the lock nut underneath.

Attach the drain rod and connect the pop-up assembly if included.


5. Turn On Water and Test

Turn the water valves back on slowly.

Check for leaks around the supply lines and faucet base.

Run both hot and cold water to flush out any debris.
